May is National Historic Preservation Month
Celebrate by joining us in Ogden May 10th, 2012, from 5 - 7 p.m.
In celebration of National Historic Preservation Month, the Ogden Landmarks Commission and Weber County Heritage Foundation are hosting their annual joint meeting, a free business tour of several of Ogden's Downtown businesses. The public is invited to join us Thursday, May 10th from 5-7 p.m. Events begin at the beautifully restored Carroll Building at 5 p.m. The Tour Begins at the Carroll Building, on the 300 Block of 24th Street just below Kiesel Ave., Ogden. The Utah Heritage Foundation presented Judy and Rufus Lohmueller with a 2011 Heritage Award for rehabilitation of the historic Carroll Building (click here to see photos of the building). We'll also feature several other beautifully restored business locations in the downtown area.
This is a great tour for local history buffs as well as entrepreneurs. In addition to touring beautifully restored buildings, Ogden City and State Economic Development experts will be available to answer questions for prospective business owners. Refreshments and door prizes will be at each of the locations.
To participate in the Scavenger Hunt, pick up a pamphlet with the photo clues from the Ogden Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd., at the information desk or in Suite 140. Everyone with at least one correct answer is entered in a drawing for local restaurant gift certificates. Entry deadlines are listed on the form. Those who get every answer right are entered for the grand-prize drawing.
